The news agency reported that the Hamas leader is also scheduled to speak to students of Tehran University and attend a session of parliament.

The visit is amid at bolstering support for Hamas following Israel's 22-day operation against Gaza militants shooting rockets into southern Israel. The operation was halted last month after the two sides declared separate cease-fires.

The news agency reported that the Gaza conflict has left more than 1,400 Palestinians dead and more than 5,500 more wounded.
