Another 16 people were reported injured, including the bus driver, some of them in serious or critical condition.

The bus overturned on U.S. 93 near Dolan Springs, about 27 miles south of the dam.

Robert Bailey, an officer with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, said the bus crossed the center median into the southbound lanes and then flipped over.

A sign on its side said the bus was operated by DW Tours, a company based in San Gabriel, Calif.

Hoover Dam is on the Arizona-Nevada state line, 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
