LONDON, Jan. 15 (UPI) -- A member of Parliament in England was suspended from the House of Commons Thursday after screaming at a Cabinet minister.

The Sun reported that Left-wing MP John McDonnell was objecting to controversial plans for a third runway at London's Heathrow airport. The runway would be in his district.

The newspaper said the MP shouted in Transport Secretary Geoff Hoon that he was a "disgrace to democracy and the country." He then picked up the ceremonial golden Mace and threw it on to one of the Labor benches.

Deputy Speaker Alan Haselhurst immediately ordered McDonnell suspended from the House of Commons, the newspaper said.
