ST. CATHARINES, Ontario, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- An unidentified thief stole a gold urn and the human ashes it contained from a car in the Canadian city of St. Catharines, police say.

Niagara Regional Police said in a release that the theft this week involved an unlocked car parked in a driveway, the Toronto Sun said Friday.

Police said the male suspect was caught on surveillance video during Tuesday's theft.

In additional to the $800 gold urn, the thief also made off with several CDs and a global positioning system unit.

The Sun said police have asked for assistance in locating the thief, who was described as a man between the ages of 40 and 50 with a mustache, who is nearly 6-feet tall and weighs approximately 170 pounds.
