BOSTON, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Protesters against Israeli actions in Gaza were arrested Thursday when they refused to leave the lobby of the Boston building where the consulate is located.
About 40 people gathered at the building in downtown Boston at around 8 a.m., The Boston Herald reported. They forced their way into the lobby.
When police arrived, officers told the group they would have a few minutes to protest and make their point and would then have to leave. Four people who refused to obey the order to leave, instead lying down on the floor of the lobby, were arrested on charges of trespassing and disturbing the peace, said Officer James Kenneally, a spokesman for the department.
Those arrested were identified as Richard Hess, 49, of Cambridge, Ridgely Fuller, 62, of Waltham, Patrick Keaney, 39, of Boxboro, and Susan Barney, 44, of Arlington.
