India sends dossier on Mumbai to Pakistan

NEW DELHI, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A dossier prepared by Indian security agencies and shared with Pakistan gives details on the Mumbai terrorist attacks, The New York Times reported Tuesday.

The dossier includes evidence that the attackers came from Pakistan, lists the 26 foreigners killed in Mumbai and details Indian efforts to win Pakistani cooperation in past terrorist investigations, the Times said. It appears aimed at providing convincing proof that the attack was planned in Pakistan and at increasing international pressure on the Pakistani government.

As the dossier ends, the government demands that Pakistan extradite anyone involved in the attacks to India and close the country to terrorists.

On Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Manoman Singh suggested that at least some Pakistani intelligence officials must have known of the plan.

"There is enough evidence to show that, given the sophistication and military precision of the attack, it must have had the support of some official agencies in Pakistan," he said.
