The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Tuesday that Coleman said he will file a lawsuit challenging the election.

Coleman, whose Senate term ended Saturday, said every vote should be counted once and that uniform standards must be applied,

"Let's take the time to get it right," Coleman was quoted as saying.

The recount results were certified Monday by the state Canvassing Board.

Coleman has seven days to file a challenge, under state law. The newspaper reported that Franken cannot be certified as the winner until the legal challenge ends.
