PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- A doctoral student at the University of Pennsylvania last seen New Year's Eve was found dead Friday, a possible victim of freezing temperatures, police said.
Kambili Moukwa, 22, was also working as an intern for Mayor Michael Nutter, WCAU-TV reported.
Moukwa was celebrating with friends Wednesday night at Z Bar, a club in the Northern Liberties neighborhood of Philadelphia. He was reported missing to police at the university after he got separated from them.
His body was discovered in a vacant lot not far from the club. Police said there were no signs of foul play, and he may have died of exposure on a night when temperatures dropped below freezing.
Moukwa was studying for a degree in government and politics.
"I was saddened to learn of Kam's death. He was a regular face around the Mayor's Office and in a very short time, he became a part of our team," Nutter said.
