COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- An Ohio woman was arrested early Thursday after police discovered her driving the wrong way on an interstate highway with her 21-month-old son in the car.
Lindsey Thompson's blood alcohol level tested at .185, more than twice the legal limit in Ohio, Delaware County Sheriff Walter Davis told The Columbus Dispatch. The 23-year-old Columbus woman was charged with drunken driving, possession of cocaine, child endangerment and speeding.
Her son was being cared for by Franklin County Children's Services.
Davis said that police got calls at about 4:15 a.m. about a car driving north on the southbound side of I-71. Deputies intercepted the car, driving in the northbound lane and using lights and sirens to warn other drivers.
Once the car was in a safe place, a deputy crossed the median and got the driver to pull over.
Thompson was scheduled to be arraigned Friday. Davis said that she told police she had been drinking with friends in Columbus.
