DAYTON, Ohio, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Five people died Thursday when a car hit some railroad tracks, went airborne, landed then skidded into a fence in Dayton, Ohio, police said.

Police said two adult males and two adult females and a child were found deceased in the car, WDTN-TV, Dayton, reported.

Police called the fire department's Trapped Response Team for assistance because the car was so mangled, WHIO-TV, Dayton, reported.

Investigators said the adults probably died instantly, WHIO reported, while the child's body was found buried at the bottom of the car.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
