NASHVILLE, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- A newborn child and its mother were back together in a Nashville hospital Thursday after an alleged attempt to kidnap the baby, police said.
Adriene Johnson, 24, of Nashville, was arrested at Nashville General Hospital at Meharry Wednesday. She was accused of posing as a nurse in scrubs and attempting to walk away with the baby, The Tennessean reported.
She was crossed up, officials said, by a state-of-the-art security system that locked down the hospital floor when an alert was sounded.
Police said Johnson told the 23-year-old mother she needed to take the baby's temperature and carried the child from the room. But, she was nabbed before she left the floor, officers said.
The mother and child were not identified.
