WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Records show that four West Palm Beach, Fla., city workers were fired and several others disciplined for porn surfing and other misuse of city computers.
The records obtained by the Palm Beach (Fla.) Post detailed a variety of unauthorized uses that also included sending off ethnic jokes and forwarding religious messages.
The newspaper said Wednesday the city launched a review of employee computer usage six months and had thus far terminated four employees, suspended one and accepted the resignations of nine others.
In some cases, the employees spent hours on their office computers working on religious texts or pursuing X-rated sites.
The newspaper also noted that two of the employees who were reprimanded worked in human resources, the same department that was conducting the review.
