Coast Guard ship joins passenger search

CANCUN, Mexico, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- A second U.S. Coast Guard ship has joined a Caribbean Sea search for a Florida woman who reportedly fell from a cruise ship on Christmas Day, officials said.

A Coast Guard vessel from Clearwater, Fla., has joined one from Miami, a C-130 aircraft and Mexican vessels in the search for Jennifer Seitz, 36, of Winter Haven, Fla. They are searching a 2,500-square-mile area about 17 miles east of Cancun, Mexico, the St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times reported Monday.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Nick Ameen said Sunday the Coast Guard was set to resume its search for the woman at daybreak Monday.

Authorities, including the FBI, were questioning Seitz's unidentified husband, who reported her missing from a Norwegian Cruise Line ship, the Norwegian Pearl, eight hours after surveillance video showed a body falling overboard, the newspaper said.

The Norwegian Pearl returned to Miami Sunday after the Caribbean cruise, the Times reported.
