EDINBURGH, Scotland, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Authorities in Scotland Sunday held a man suspected of abducting a nurse found trapped in the trunk of her car for several days.
The 35-year-old man was expected to appear in Linlithgow Sheriff Court Monday, The Guardian reported.
Magdeline Makola, 38, was recovering from dehydration and hypothermia at an Airdrie hospital after being rescued Friday. She was found in her car about 20 miles from her home in Livingston.
Before being rescued, she hadn't been seen since leaving work at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary Dec. 15. Colleagues had reported her missing three days later when she failed to show up for her next shift.
A spokesman for Lothian and Borders police told the British newspaper the man had been arrested and charged in the abduction, but details of the arrest were not available.
