JERUSALEM, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Scores of telephone callers said they support an Israeli Arab couple whose 2-year-old daughter was not allowed to attend a daycare in northern Israel.
Haaretz said Friday that Mayssa and Shua'a Zuabi received an unspecified number of phone calls Thursday following a Jewish daycare's reported refusal to allow the child access to its services.
A teacher at the Moshav Merchavia site allegedly told the parents that their daughter, Dana, could not attend the daycare due to opposition from other parents.
Haaretz said in addition to the phone calls of support, the parents also received enrollment offers from principals of other regional daycare sites.
