NEW DELHI, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- A jailed suspect in last month's attack on Mumbai Monday asked Pakistani diplomats to help him with his case, said Indian foreign ministry officials.

A letter from Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab was delivered to Pakistan's High Commission in New Delhi, CNN reported.

Kasab, 21, allegedly has admitted he and the nine other attackers were Pakistanis who trained for more than a year in Pakistan with Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, a banned Islamic militant group, CNN reported.

In all, 160 people, including nine of the attackers, died during three days of explosions and shoot-outs in and around hotels in Mumbai. Kasab was the only suspect who survived, CNN reported.
