NEW DELHI, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Interpol Secretary-General Ronald Noble promised Saturday to provide any assistance needed in the investigation into the terrorist attacks in Mumbai.

Noble met with Indian Home Secretary Palaniappan Chidambaram, the BBC reported. He said the international police agency could provide assistance with fingerprint and DNA identification and sending information to other police agencies.

At least 170 people were killed when a small group of gunmen attacked two of Mumbai's major hotels, a railroad station, Jewish community center and other targets. All but one of the known terrorists were killed in the attack.

Parts of the Oberoi Trident and Taj Mahal hotels were to reopen Sunday.
