HARTFORD, Conn., Dec. 18 (UPI) -- The wife of United Technologies Corp. Chairman George David claims in a Connecticut divorce filing that she spends $53,000 a week and has no income.

In addition to taxes and upkeep on an apartment in Manhattan, a house in the Hamptons and property in Sweden, Marie Douglas-David says her lifestyle requires $8,000 for travel, $4,500 for clothes and $1,000 for hair and skin maintenance -- a week. In a six-page affidavit filed with Family Court by her lawyers, Douglas-David says she has cut back, The Hartford Courant reported.

"While recognizing that many of these expenses may seem high, most are lower than prior to the commencement of this case in August 2007," she says in a footnote.

Douglas agreed Wednesday to support his wife to the tune of $978,000 while they negotiate a financial settlement. That is enough to keep her going for less than six months.

In her affidavit, Douglas-David said that her husband agreed in 2003, a year after their marriage, to her resigning her job with Lazard Asset Management.
