Russian teen sold as sex slave by sister

YAKUTSK, Russia, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- A 15-year-old Russian girl allegedly sold by her older sister as a sex slave for 10,000 rubles ($370) has been freed in northeast Siberia, police say.

The girl identified only as Sveta, from Russia's Far Eastern Primorye Territory, was found in Yakutia where she had been held for 10 days, RIA Novosti reported.

Sveta said she was sold to a sex trafficker who drugged her and drove her to Yakutsk. She told police she later found out that her sister Anya, who had previously worked as a prostitute, had sold her to buy clothes.

She said the kidnapper had told her she would have work for one year to pay off the 10,000 rubles he paid for her.
