WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 (UPI) -- More than three-quarters of U.S. voters interviewed for a national poll say they approve of the way Barack Obama is handling his presidential transition.
That's an increase from a Washington Post-ABC News poll taken three weeks ago, the Post reported Tuesday.
Of those interviewed, 53 percent of those who voted for Republican presidential hopeful John McCain approve of how Obama is handling the changeover of power from the Bush administration.
The poll suggests Obama remains untainted by Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's alleged attempts to profit from his power to appoint Obama's successor to the U.S. Senate, the Post reported.
Two-thirds of Democrats and 61 percent of independents said the president-elect has adequately explained discussions with Blagojevich, while 51 percent of Republicans said Obama has not done enough, the Post reported.
