MIRAMAR, Fla., Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Students at a South Florida middle school said two boys and a girl were involved in sexual conduct during class.
Detective Yessenia Diaz of the Miramar Police Department said the complaints came from three 12-year-old girls attending the Glades Middle School. The girls said two boys, ages 13 and 14, and a 13-year-old girl were involved in unspecified "inappropriate sexual conduct," the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
Krista Herrera, the school's principal, notified parents in a letter Tuesday that students had been suspended and two teachers temporarily reassigned. School officials said they would decide after an investigation whether to expel the students.
"We're looking at was it true, and if it is true, where was the teacher?" said Joe Melita, who heads the school district special investigations unit.
Diaz said one of the girls told her parents about the inappropriate conduct, which allegedly began in September, when they asked her about a drop in her grades. Melita said the district got an anonymous letter.
