HONOLULU, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- A total of 347,680 gallons of treated and untreated waste water overflowed into streams, lakes and the ocean during a slow-moving Hawaii storm, officials said.

The Honolulu Advertiser reported Friday that about 226,000 gallons of fully treated and untreated waste water went into Wahiawa Reservoir, officials said.

The newspaper reported that state health officials are monitoring water quality at a dozen Oahu locations.

The Honolulu Star-Bulletin reported that residents could expect continued heavy rainfall because of the slow-moving storm.

The Advertiser reported that about 14,000 homes and businesses were without electricity for different periods Thursday.
