AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- A member of a North Carolina company says the Web development group made a hefty profit by purchasing the George WBushLibrary.com domain name.
Illuminati Karate lead Web developer George Huger said his company was able to sell the domain name for $35,000 to Web developers hired for the George W. Bush Presidential Library project in Dallas, The Dallas Morning News said Thursday.
"It worked out very well," Huger said, referring to the fact his company only paid under $10 for the name initially.
Illuminati Karate was able to purchase the domain name due to an apparent oversight by Yuma Solutions. The Web development group contracted to oversee the library's Web site had let the Internet name expire without renewal.
The Morning News said the group initially purchased the domain name from a private citizen for $3,000 in March 2007. The company's new contract for the name of the honorary site for U.S. President George W. Bush is not scheduled to expire until 2013.
