Coleman camp: Don't count 'lost' ballots

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Minnesota Republican Sen. Norm Coleman's campaign says 133 ballots that went missing in a Minneapolis precinct should not to be part of the ongoing recount.

The Hill reported Wednesday that the votes favor Democrat Al Franken by a margin of 46.

Specifically, Coleman's campaign is calling on the precinct where the ballots were apparently lost not to report the totals of those ballots to the state canvassing board.

Instead, the Coleman camp only wants the precinct to report hand recount totals.

The precinct has suggested it will report totals that it will report both totals, leaving it up to the state canvassing board to determine which votes to count.

Coleman's campaign said the precinct lacks the legal authority to report the totals that include the initial count with the 133 ballots.
