CHICAGO, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Former U.S. Vice President and Nobel Prize winner Al Gore isn't likely to be a member of President-elect Barack Obama's Cabinet, aides to both men say.

When the scheduled meeting between Obama, Vice President-elect Joe Biden and Gore takes place Tuesday in Chicago, the president-elect will be talking about environment-related issues, not a Cabinet position for Gore, officials from the transition team and Gore told Politico.

"This meeting is a continuation of their conversations about climate and energy and how policies to address them can help the economy and jobs," said Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider. "Former Vice President Gore still believes his calling at this time is to help educate the public about the issues through his roles at the Alliance at Climate Protection and other work."

In his radio address Saturday, Obama outlined his hoped-for stimulus package that weds economic recovery with protecting the environment.

"We need to upgrade our federal buildings by replacing old heating systems and installing efficient light bulbs," Obama said in the address, pledging to do similar upgrades in the nation's schools.

Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work on climate change and a documentary on his "An Inconvenient Truth" presentation won an Academy Award.
