Man cited for jumping in rhino pen

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- San Francisco Zoo officials say a man who jumped into the Black Rhino enclosure is lucky he wasn't charged by the animal and hurt.

The man, whose name was not released, was cited for disturbing the animal after he allegedly climbed a fence built to keep people out and then jumped another fence in the enclosure, The San Francisco Chronicle reported Tuesday, adding it was unclear why the man entered the rhino's territory.

The incident occurred nearly a year after a tiger at the zoo cleared its enclosure and killed a teenager and two others before being killed by police, the Chronicle reported, noting the tiger might have been teased.
