The children, all siblings from Arkansas, were being screened to determine if they had been physically or sexually abused, CNN reported.

An Arkansas Department of Health and Human Services spokeswoman provided no details about where the children were found or how they were taken into custody.

California child welfare officials also went to an Alamo ministry compound in Santa Clarita, Calif., but found no children, a Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services spokeswoman said.

All told, 32 children have been seized from followers of radical fundamentalist evangelist Tony Alamo, who remains held without bond on charges he transported females over state lines for sexual activity in violation of the U.S. Mann Act, CNN said.

Alamo, 74, pleaded innocent Oct. 17. His case is set for trial in February. Alamo's lawyer has said he may ask for more time to prepare a defense.

Alamo's former followers testified in a preliminary hearing Oct. 22 hearing that Alamo had practiced polygamy and had taken a 9-year-old girl as a wife.

Federal and state investigative agents raided Alamo's Fouke, Ark., headquarters on Sept. 20 as part of a child pornography investigation.
