WASHINGTON, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. President-elect Barack Obama raised lots of money in his White House bid, with the latest financial report indicating his total tally nearing $1 billion.
The majority of the donations came during the primary and general election campaigns but Obama's fundraising magic also extended to the Democratic convention, the transition and the Jan. 20 inauguration events, Politico reported Tuesday.
A financial disclosure report scheduled to be released Thursday is expected to show Obama raised more than $100 million in the final month of the campaign, aides said, bringing the campaign total to more than $750 million.
Team Obama also helped raise at least $50 million for the Democratic convention's host committee and more than $100 million for the Democratic National Committee, the Washington publication said.
He's still raising money for his transition and inauguration, aides said.
