KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- United Airlines says the pilot of a regional airliner made the right decision in making an unscheduled stop in Kansas City after the plane's windshield cracked.

The GoJet Airlines flight from St. Louis to Denver landed at Kansas City International Airport Tuesday after the crew discovered a crack had developed in the cockpit windshield.

GoJet is a partner airline of United.

The plane landed safely and the nearly 70 passengers had to wait about three hours before boarding another plane to Denver, but United spokesman Jeff Kovick told the Kansas City Star the decision to land as a precaution was the right one.
