The Bush administration is expected to issue an environmental review favorable to the $1 billion Cape Wind project that will erect 130 wind turbines in Nantucket Sound off the Massachusetts coast, the Boston Globe said Tuesday.
The newspaper said while the U.S. Minerals Management Service hasn't announced a release date supporters of the project said the report would be out as early as Friday.
Environmentalists have staunchly opposed the project; however, the Globe said a draft of the environmental review released earlier this year concluded the 440-foot tall windmills would have minimal impact on tourism or migrating birds.
