Slaying suspect admits to killing parents

OKCHEON, South Korea, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- A South Korean suspected of slaying his wife and daughter confessed to killing his parents, police said.

The 42-year-old man, identified only as Kim, was being questioned in Okcheon, South Korea, in the stabbing death of his wife and strangulation of his 2-year-old daughter when he allegedly confessed to slaying his elderly parents in 2006, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported Sunday.

Officials said they had believed the deaths of Kim's 85-year-old father and 75-year-old mother in a fire at their home were suicides.

"(Kim) has confessed to killing his parents in 2006 to take possession of their real estate assets," an officer told Yonhap.
