MUMBAI, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- A Live Earth concert that was scheduled to include celebrity participants has been canceled in the wake of the deadly Mumbai terror attacks, organizers say.
Event organizers said the Live Earth India event originally scheduled for Dec. 7 at a Mumbai stadium will not take place due to circumstances related to this week's tragic events, CNN reported Saturday.
"Everyone involved with Live Earth India ... is stunned and saddened by the tragic events of the past few days in our host city Mumbai," a statement from organizers read. "We always felt very welcomed and safe as we spent more time on the ground in Mumbai to finalize plans."
Among those notable names planning on taking part in the concert for environmental awareness were the Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi and singer Roger Waters.
Refunds to ticketholders are expected to begin next week, CNN said.
Indian authorities say the current death toll in this week's series of terrorist attacks on Mumbai tourist sites has reached 195 with 300 wounded.
