HEBRON, West Bank, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- A Palestinian living near the Israeli settlement of Hebron on the West Bank says he and his family and friends are the target of escalating settler violence.
"As long as it's just property -- we've become accustomed over dozens of years," Majdi al-Jabri told Ynetnews.com. "But in recent days there has been an escalation that will soon take lives."
Jabri said Wednesday that settlers have been hurling stones at Palestinians from the fifth floor of a building and that he found one that weighed at least a kilogram (more than 2.2 pounds). He said that two large stones this week barely missed two of his cousins.
Complaining to Israeli soldiers has been futile, Jabri said. He said he tried to complain after a settler threatened him.
"I was shocked to hear a soldier tell me, 'There's nothing I can do, and there's no use complaining, the settlers and we are one," he said.
