Poll: Almost half in U.S. creationist
PERUGIA , Italy, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- U.S. college student Amanda Knox will remain in an Italian jail for another six weeks before facing trial for the alleged murder of a British exchange student.
The Daily Telegraph reported Tuesday that Knox, 21, denies being involved in the death and sexual assault of Meredith Kercher. She and her Italian former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, 24, had expected to face trial Dec 4.
Judge Giancarlo Massei ruled that more time was needed to compile evidence heard in a series of pretrial hearings. He postponed the trial to Jan. 16.
Kercher, a Leeds University student, was found stabbed to death in Perugia, Italy, last November, the newspaper reported.
