FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A young Florida man died in an apparent suicide that he broadcast from his bedroom on the Internet on Justin.tv.

Police in Pembroke Pines found the body of Abraham Biggs Jr., 19, after some viewers alerted them to the broadcast Wednesday afternoon, The Miami Herald reported. The cause of death was believed to be an overdose of prescription medication.

The video spread from Justin.tv, which allows users to broadcast live, to other content-sharing sites. It ends with the police breaking in and turning off the feed.

''He was very much into the Internet. If this is something he was going to do this is how he was going to do it,'' a friend, Natasha Mazzolino, said.

The Broward County Medical Examiner reported that some viewers responded to Biggs' suicide threat by encouraging him.

Biggs worked in the computer lab at Broward College, where his father teaches math.

The elder Biggs said he went home after his son failed to follow through on a promise to bring him lunch and arrived at his apartment at the same time as police.
