Lottery 'misprints' cost man $135,000

In its quarterly summary, the agency said there were a total of 1,443 thefts from banks -- 1,406 of them robberies and the rest burglaries or larcenies. The favorite target was branch banks, which accounted for 1,364 thefts.
The FBI recovered close to $1.7 million in stolen money during the same period.
Most robbers approached the counter with a demand note or a verbal demand for money. Robberies aimed at vaults and safe deposit boxes were rare.
The FBI said the robberies involved a total of 1,749 perpetrators, only 91 of them known to be women.
