ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- A suicide bomb attack at a funeral procession Friday in violence-plagued northwest Pakistan killed and injured dozens, police said.

The incident near Kotli Imam in the Dera Ismail Khan district killed 10 people, Geo TV reported, quoting sources. Many more were injured, it said.

CNN, quoting police said, put the death toll in the blast at six with injuries to dozens more.

The CNN report said there were gunshots immediately after the blast, which Geo TV said were fired by angry protesters at police. It wasn't clear if there were casualties in the firing.

On Thursday, a similar suicide bomb attack killed seven people and injured six more in the Bajaur agency in the same region, CNN said.
