BRISBANE, Australia, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- A Qantas plane made an emergency landing in Brisbane Tuesday after flying from an airport in the Australian Outback.
Jim Carden, a spokesman for the Brisbane Airport, said the Dash-8 was operated by Sunstate Airlines, a regional Qantas carrier, the Melbourne Herald Sun reported. It had taken off from Roma, an airport in central Queensland.
"There was smoke in the cockpit," he said. "It's landed safely and everything's OK."
No injuries were reported.
Last month, 44 passengers on a Qantas flight from Singapore were injured when the plane went into a nosedive as it approached Perth. In July, a Qantas jet flying from London to Melbourne made an emergency landing after an oxygen cylinder exploded.
