Poll: Southerners not enamored of Obama
Tuesday, November 10
WASHINGTON, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., would be a good choice for secretary of state, U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., said Sunday.
Appearing on "Fox News Sunday," Kyl said President-elect Barack Obama would do well to appoint Clinton to the post.
"It seems to me she's got the experience, she's got the temperament for it," he said. "She would be well-received around the world."
Appearing on the same show, Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., agreed.
"I don't think she'd have difficulty (being confirmed) in the Senate. She's worked across the aisle, has good bipartisan relationships," Dorgan said. "I think she'd be an excellent choice, would have instant credibility around the world."
