BARRIE, Ontario, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- About 2,000 people came together to mourn a Canadian teenager who died accidentally after running away because of a fight over an Xbox.

Brandon Crisp, 15, was buried Friday after a funeral service in Barrie, Ontario, The Toronto Star reported. A police escort ensured that his family would be able to say their last good-bye in private at St. Mary's Cemetery.

St. Mary's Church was packed with family, friends, police officers and reporters. The crowd overflowed from the church into an auditorium.

"Half of me will always be missing without him," his twin sister, Samantha, said in a tribute read by a family friend. "He was such a happy kid and loved life. I guess Brandon was meant to die young because he was always a kid at heart."

Brandon ran away from home in October after his parents, fearing he had become addicted to video games, took away his Xbox. Volunteers searched the area for him, and Microsoft Canada offered a reward for information.

This week, hunters found his body a few miles from home. Investigators say he was probably killed in a fall from a tree.
