Tusk: Missile shield a U.S.-Poland matter

PARIS, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said Friday that talks regarding a possible U.S. anti-missile system in Poland only involve U.S. and Polish officials.

The Polish official said during a visit to Paris that the negotiations regarding the potential missile shield project should not involve any third-party countries, leaving Poland and the United States the only involved parties, Poland Radio reported.

The prime minister's comments came in the wake of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's claim that his country was prepared to negotiate regarding the anti-missile system.

Poland Radio reported the Russian president said if the United States ceased all attempts to build an anti-missile system in central Europe, his country would not move any ballistic missiles to the town of Kaliningrad along the Russian-Polish border.
