MADRID, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Colombian rebels and Spain's Basque sepatarist group ETA held meetings to discuss military tactics and bomb making, a Spanish prosecutor said.

Prosecutor Vicente Gonzalez alleged the meetings took place in Spain and that documents seized from members of both groups proved their relationship.

Leftist rebels in Colombia have been fighting government forces for more than 40 years, while ETA has fought for an independent homeland along the Spanish-French border for over three decades.

Both groups use violent attacks and bombings in their respective campaigns and are considered terrorist organizations.
