NOBLESVILLE , Ind., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A guard at the Hamilton County Government and Judicial Center in Indiana was shot Friday with his own Taser gun, officials said.

Noblesville, Ind., Police Chief Dick Russell said suspect Joshua Lindsey fired the guard's gun, the Indianapolis Star reported.

Lindsey, who was recently charged with a pharmacy robbery, was reportedly in a holding cell outside a courtroom, waiting for his sentencing hearing to begin.

His defense attorney, Andy Barker, said he heard a loud pop and looked into the room, and said Lindsey had gotten a guard's gun and shot him with it, the Star reported.

Although the guard was taken out of the judicial center on a stretcher, his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
