LONDON, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- A doctor accused of planning a British car bombing campaign said he wanted to offer a "taste" of fear as felt by his Iraqi countrymen, court records show.
Dr. Bilal Abdulla, 29, on trial at Woolwich Crown Court in South East London, testified he had considered attacking Downing Street, Parliament and Buckingham Palace, but there was too much security.
He said he was "furious and angry" at what was happening in Iraq but his anger was directed at the British government rather than the public.
He said the aim of the bombs left outside the Tiger Tiger nightclub in central on was to echo the attacks of July 7 without killing anyone.
"All we saw (on TV) was atrocities from all over the world but we don't feel it, we don't know," he said. "I wanted the public to taste what is going on."
