JERUSALEM, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Four Palestinian gunmen died in a gunfight with Israeli soldiers Wednesday, Israeli and Palestinian officials said.

An Israeli army spokeswoman said soldiers near a Gaza border fence close to the city of Kahn Yunis identified approaching Palestinian gunmen who allegedly were trying to plant a roadside bomb, CNN reported. A Hamas spokesman confirmed the four were members of his group.

Israeli soldiers said they found rifles and grenades on the gunmen's bodies, Ynetnews.com reported.

Israeli officials said one soldier was slightly injured.

Meanwhile, Palestinians charged an Israeli force entered Palestinian territory, where it clashed with Hamas and Jihad operatives, Ynetnews.com said. Palestinians reportedly launched mortar shells at the Kissufim crossing area.
