CHICAGO, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Items bearing the signature of Barack Obama or purported to have been signed by the first black U.S. president-elect have flooded the market, observers say.
The Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday that books, balls and magazines said to be autographed by Obama are for sale online.
Most appraisers aren't experienced yet in discerning a real Obama signature from a forgery, said Daniel Weinberg, who sells historical documents and signatures at the Abraham Lincoln Book Shop in Chicago.
He told the newspaper an authentic Obama signature is probably worth $250 to $350, adding that some of the items for sale or bid are fetching much more money.
