WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Individuals wanting to strip for money in Palm Beach County, Fla., may soon pay four times as much for an official work card, a county official says.
Public Safety Director Vince Bonvento said as part of an effort to increase Public Safety Department funding, county officials are considering a proposal to raise the fee for a Adult Entertainer Work Identification Card from $25 to up to $100, The Palm Beach (Fla.) Post reported Saturday.
Bonvento said the county department had its budget cut recently and needs more money.
The proposed fee increase for the cards, nearly 1,000 of which are issued in the county annually, would also help with operating costs for the issuance process.
Would-be strippers obtain the cards by proving they are of legal age by showing two forms of identification and providing a variety of personal information to officials.
The Post said the identification card allows exotic dancers to work in any strip club in the county without facing a possible $150 fine.
