ST. PETERSBURG, Russia, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Georgia was not involved in the deadly bombing of a minibus in Russia's North Caucasus republic of North Ossetia this week, investigators said Friday.

The Investigation Committee of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office ruled that despite the recent conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia there was no evidence to suggest Georgia was involved in the attack that killed 12 people, RIA Novosti said.

ITAR-TASS said the inquiry into the bombing was ordered by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who also called on Russian officials to improve security in the region.
