BAGHDAD, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Several explosions in Baghdad Thursday were responsible for killing three people and injuring 12, Iraqi officials said.

A roadside bomb exploded near a checkpoint in the Sheik Omar district, killing two people, including an Awakening Council member, and injuring five, an Iraqi Interior Ministry official told CNN.

Iraqi police reported an explosion near the Imam Abdul-Qadir Al-Kilani Shrine killed a civilian and injured four people, Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported.

Three people were injured when a bomb went off in a car in which they were riding in Sadr City, KUNA said.
