MEXICO CITY, Nov. 6 (UPI) -- A plane crash that killed eight people including Mexico's interior minister was determined to be accidental, according to Mexican investigators.
Officials said air traffic controllers received no indication before the crash earlier this week that there had been any foul play involved, El Universal newspaper reported Thursday.
Among those killed in Tuesday's crash was Interior Minister Juan Camilo Mourino.
Others killed were former Deputy Attorney General Josi Luis Santiago Vasconcelos and Miguel Monterubio Cubas, Mexico's director of social communication, when their small jet crashed in a central part of the city, CNN reported.
Forty people on the ground were injured in the fiery crash
The Learjet was traveling from San Luis Potosi to Mexico City.
